Grouse Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Tucked in a remote ravine in the Sierra foothills, a short hike leads to an aerie view of Grouse Falls. The real adventure of getting to Grouse Falls is not the trail, but the drive. Both Foresthill Road and Mosquito Ridge Road traverse some of the most rugged, spectacular terrain on the west side of the Sierra Nevada, plunging into and out of forested canyons almost as pristine as when miners scoured the foothills looking for gold.
On a winter’s day, with the sun at a low angle and mist rising from the depths of the hollows, the views are stop-the-car fabulous. And Grouse Falls, plunging more than 500 feet into an inaccessible ravine deep in the wild, is no slouch either."
