Deer Creek Hills Preserve

Deer Creek Hills Preserve Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Deer Creek Hills Preserve is remarkable for several reasons. First there is the setting: Straddling the ecotone between the ranchland/grassland of the southern Sacramento Valley and the mixed woodlands of the Sierra foothills, the property is composed of rolling hills cloaked in annual grasses and wildflowers, and shaded by widely spaced blue oaks.

Then there is the preserve’s environmental significance. Within its boundaries flow watershed streams for Deer Creek, which flows into the Cosumnes River, which flows into the San Joaquin River, which flows into San Francisco Bay. Little Crevis Creek may not seem all that impressive"
