Grays Peak is named for Alex Gray, who founded Gray’s Landing on the north shore of Big Bear Lake in 1918. The 7952- foot summit is heavily forested, making for an enjoyable walk through the woods. This is one of the most popular moderate hikes in the Big Bear area and you should expect to have plenty of company on a pleasant summer day. The trailhead is in winter habitat for bald eagles and is closed from November 1 to April 1.
