The somewhat free-form recreational trail for hikers, horses, and leashed dogs heading east from the trailhead sticks to the south bank of the river, sometimes fairly high and sometimes near the water itself. It incorporates fragments of earlier dirt roads, paths, and an old railroad grade.

This trail was a fun meandering walk along the river. It's a great family trail without many technical or steep spots. My two-year old loved it! There are many spots to stop and sit or wade in the river. If you're looking for a real challenge to get your heart pumping, you won't find it here. But this does looks like it'd be a great trail to run!
