Rush Ranch is a 2,070-acre open space cupped between Suisun Bay and the rolling Potrero Hills. It lies within Suisun Marsh, south of Fairfield and the city of Suisun. Suisun Marsh is the largest estuarial (part freshwater and part saltwater) marsh in the continental United States and the largest coastal wetland in California. The 100,000-acre estuary is located where the freshwater from the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River mixes with the saltwater from the ocean. Suisun Marsh is a critical stop-over on the Pacific Flyway, a freeway for millions of migrating waterfowl and shorebirds. It is a haven to more than 230 bird species and an incredible location for bird watching.
