Etna Summit to Seiad Valley Professional Review and Guide
"From the northwest edge of Etna Summit, the PCT leaves the Somes Bar–Etna Road and makes a usually gentle climb, first west, then north to a crest saddle. After climbing briefly, the trail bends westward down to a longer saddle, from which it contours across a brushy, southfacing slope. South, you’ll see snowy Thompson Peak, which at 9002 feet is the paramount peak in the Trinity Alps and the only one to sport glaciers"
