"Mitchell Caverns is a spectacular system of limestone caves in the Providence Mountains. Visitors to the caverns will see stalactites, stalagmites, shields, draperies, soda straws, and other rare and beautiful formations. Cavern tours run at 1:30 p.m. daily and last 1.5 hours. Additional tours are offered at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. School and special groups must make reservations one month in advance by calling (760) 928-2586. Reservations for the general public are not required, but are recommended on busy weekends and holidays because there is a limit of 25 visitors per tour."
