San Pasqual Hiking Trails

San Pasqual Hiking Trails Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The San Dieguito River Park’s San Pasqual (a.k.a. Clevenger Canyon) Hiking Trails are a system of lateral trails that will eventually connect with the “backbone” trail of the park—the Coast to Crest Trail. The original San Pasqual trail system totaling 13 miles was opened in 1991, but fires, overgrowth of vegetation, and a certain amount of neglect led to the closing (perhaps temporarily) of the northernmost trail segments atop a plateau high above Santa Ysabel Creek. The roughly 6 miles of trail segments remaining open are well worth exploring. Like any low-elevation route in the county’s arid, warm interior, these trails are best explored during the cooler months. If you go on an unusually clear day, the coast-to-mountain views on the high points reached via these trails can be truly stunning."
