Jack Creek Meadow Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Daley Ranch preserve, a former working ranch that passed into public ownership in the 1990s, occupies the only large undeveloped acreage in the city of Escondido. Here, we spotlight the best introductory hike Daley Ranch offers, taking you to a remote elevated valley completely removed from the sights and sounds of civilization.
The hike or bike ride to Jack Creek Meadow is outstanding when taken during the cooler months, and it’s tolerably comfortable on most summer days, assuming you travel in the early morning or late afternoon. If you live or work in inland North County, consider this route for a bit of quick and intense exercise: a speed walk of perhaps 90 minutes, a 60-minute jog, or a 40-minute mountain bike ride. The ranch property is open dawn to dusk."
