Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From Emigrant Gap, drive east on I-80 for about 8 miles. Take the Cisco Grove exit north and turn left onto the frontage road. Drive less than 0.5 mile to Fordyce Lake Road (FR 85); turn right (northeast) onto Fordyce and drive 5 miles. Then turn left onto Sterling Lake Road and drive 2 miles. The road is steep and winding and not suitable for trailers or large RVs.

About the campground: Situated on the western shore of a secluded, scenic lake, with fair trout fishing. The 5-mile Mossy Pond loop trail circles a series of attractive mountain ponds north of the camp. An OHV trail just west of the campground leads from Fordyce Lake to Meadow Lake and beyond. Elevation 7,000 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open June through October."
