Upper Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake

Upper Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake Professional Review and Guide

"Maggies Peaks rise up from the south and east of Eagle Lake, while Phipps Peak towers above on the northwest. The trail to the lake crosses and parallels the cascading waters and pools of Eagle Creek. The hike includes a bridge crossing of Eagle Creek at Upper Eagle Falls. Eagle Lake is in the Desolation Wilderness. Be sure to fill out a wilderness permit at the trailhead."

The water falls are at best in the spring, the path to the falls is relatively easy. Holiday weekends lead to parking problems

A rocky, but well maintained trail leads up to the falls and then further up to Eagle Lake. The falls can be minimal at the end of dry seasons. This is a heavy day use area so you might want to try visiting during non-peak seasons like fall.
