North Yuba River Trail

Downieville, California

North Yuba River Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The section of the North Yuba River that this trail parallels is one of the longest free-flowing river segments in the Sierra. Large rapids make the North Yuba a favorite run for expert white-water boaters. Although Hwy 49 parallels the opposite river bank, the highway is largely unobtrusive from much of the trail. Two scenic tributaries with cascades, the diverse low-elevation forest, and the river’s rich Gold Rush history make this a great trail to visit virtually any time of the year."
