Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes

Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes Professional Review and Guide

"These sand dunes cover more than 14 square miles, the largest area of any of the seven major sand dunes in the park. They are also the most easily accessible from a road and very scenic with a scattered mantle of mesquite trees and a surprising array of nocturnal wildlife.

As such, they are the most popular and heavily visited sand dunes in Death Valley National Park. This hike takes you to a more remote corner of the dunes where you’ll see a lot more tracks of wildlife than of humans. To see the most animal tracks, before they are obscured by wind and shifting sand, get there early in the morning."
