Kaleidoscope Canyon

Kaleidoscope Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"Unofficially named, but locally known as Kaleidoscope Canyon, this is one of Death Valley’s most beautiful treasures. The canyon is literally a giant natural kaleidoscope with ever changing colorful patterns glowing with ever changing light reflecting off canyon walls and formations. As such, Kaleidoscope is a photographer’s and explorer’s paradise.

From the parking area cross the wide Jubilee Wash and head straight north across desert pavement toward the left-hand (western) toe of the lower ridge directly in front of you. There is a rounded peak behind the ridge. Upon reaching the toe of the ridge after about 0.5 mile, you’ll see a distinctive white-topped hillside far to the north. This white hillside is a key landmark, serving as a beacon, guiding you to the correct Kaleidoscope."
