Pines Park

Pines Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Pines Park is a small, tree-filled park on the Capistrano Beach Palisades. The 1 00-foot high blufftop park, with rolling terrain and a narrow, craggy canyon, offers beautiful views of the coastline from its picturesque, inter-twining paths.

Edward “Ned” Doheny originally developed the area in the 1920s, planting an abundance of Aleppo and Canary Islands pines. Now the towering giants dominate the landscape. Paths wind through the marine terrace grasslands under the shady canopy."

This is a very easy and family friendly with great ocean views. If you have kids there is a popular playground at one end. It is a popular park which makes it a good place to people watch as well. The gorge trail down to PCH mentioned in the guide book is no longer accessible.
