Raid de San Bruno Mountain

Raid de San Bruno Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"This is a compact ride within San Bruno Mountain State and County Park in Daly City. San Bruno Mountain peaks at 1,314 feet and is the northernmost mountain in the Santa Cruz range. The route uses trails within the park, as well as Radio Road and even a portion of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway. Other trails within the park are not intended for bicycle use. Please note that San Bruno Mountain is a classic microclimate zone and can be the scene of much cooler temperatures than the surrounding area. Wind gusts of 50 to 80 mph are not uncommon during periods of inclement weather. Be prepared for temperature changes before climbing Radio Road.

Start the ride in the parking lot adjacent to the park entrance just off Guadalupe Canyon Parkway. Exit the lot on the east side, heading in a northerly direction onto the Saddle Loop Trail. Just beyond the grove of trees is a meadow with picnic tables, as well as a restroom facility. Continue past the meadow on the trail. The trail begins to ascend gradually as it heads toward the northern frontier of the park."
