Vista Pacifica: Vista Pacifica Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Imagine a lovely park entrance, where visitors board a tram for a lift up slopes carpeted with native grasses and wildflowers to a nature center, where they join a ranger-led hike up to a magnificent viewpoint. Welcome to newest enclave in the Baldwin Hills, Vista Pacifica, where the landscape of the imagination may just be the most important landscape of all. Right now the Baldwin Hills resemble a conservationist’s nightmare more than a dream, but park agency professionals and citizen-activists imagine—and are planning for—something different. Conservationists say the Baldwin Hills area is the last, large, undeveloped open space in the urbanized portion of Los Angeles County. About a million people live within five miles of the hills."
