Hatton Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A redwood hike on the north side of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park to an enchanting grove. See “Options” for a stretch along the Smith River and access to Stout Grove and campground. The small pullout along US 199 has room for 3 cars.
Although not quite as impressive as Stout Grove or Boy Scout Tree, the Hatton Trail features easier access, a good length, interesting options, and huge redwoods. The featured route works its way around old-growth trees along the south side of US 199 to a wonderful hidden grove. (Note: The proximity to US 199 creates easy access but also, occasionally, a little too much noise on the trail.) An optional extension continues along the crystal-clear waters of the Smith River all the way to Stout Grove."
