Coronado Beach Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Travel magazines routinely rank Coronado’s oceanfront beach as one of the nation’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, and you will surely agree with this assessment when you get there. Actually, the beach itself extends into military zones both to the north and to the south, and those areas have been strictly off-limits to public entry since the events of 9/11.

The 1.9-mile stretch in the middle runs from North Beach in the north—or Dog Beach, where pets can roam free and swim—to the south edge of the Coronado Shores high-rise condominium development."

Coronado Beach is a beautiful spot to soak up some sun and enjoy the incredible beauty of San Diego Bay. When I visited, I enjoyed hanging out on the beach and taking in the sights, but my favorite activity was renting a kayak and paddling out from the beach into the bay. Paddling this unique body of water was a lot of fun and it provided a really unique view of the island on one side and San Diego on the other. I highly encourage you to add kayaking to your itinerary if you’re lucky enough to visit this little slice of SoCal heaven.
