Corona Del Mar State Beach Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Corona Del Mar, meaning “Crown of the Sea”, is a small blufftop community on the east side of Newport Harbor. It is located at the start of the scenic oceanfront cliffs that extend south to San Clemente and San Onofre. The beach, which sits at the mouth of the harbor, is a triangular wedge of land with gorgeous white sand coves beneath 80-foot bluffs.
The state beach has tidepools and offshore rock formations. To the south, a stream-fed canyon drains through Little Corona Del Mar Beach, a secluded cove with lush riparian vegetation in the Robert E. Badham Marine Life Refuge. This hike begins at the east jetty of Newport Harbor and explores the beaches and marine refuges, making a loop from the palisades to the sandy beaches."
