Easy to follow trail. Carrying only daypacks we were a Graveyard lake in 4.5 hours and hiked back out that afternoon. Fishing was good at lakes. I could have camped happily at the lakes or on the main creek down below. Beautiful & peaceful says it all.

This trip is definitely worth taking. Getting to the graveyard lakes is easy with just a little bit of a steep climb right before the first lake. The first lake had 5 groups camping at it because it is the only one where fires are allowed. I hiked just to the second lake and saw no one. There aren't to many good campsites at the second and third lakes but they are really nice lakes. I did this trip as a loop going over silver fox pass to Peter Pande lake and then to silver divide pass and Mott lake. Silver Fox Pass is doable but tough going down the other side. I posted a picture of the north side.

I can't understand how this beautiful place got its name. The lakes are a magical blue with granite islands in the bigger three. The first lake is under 10000' and the only lake where campfires are allowed, but I suggest struggling all the way to last and 2nd biggest lake. You will most likely have the entire lake all to yourself. The pass directly above the lake is worth hiking up and over to access Peter Pande Lake for an extended trip or to just eat lunch on and take pictures of the lakes below. Bring your fishing pole and you could be dining on trout every night.
