The heat of summer drove me from the mountain hikes to the cool shore line. This is the first in a series this of beach hikes this summer. Kim and Rex Fowler and I started at the Torrance Beach parking lot and ended at Lunada Bay. The temperature was 105 at home and 74 at the start of the hike.
A beautiful stroll along the beach and along the cliffs, with fishing boats, surfers, family's along the beach. We took a path then ventured along a rocky beach nestled against 300 foot cliffs to Bluff Cove. Due to the high tied we had to turn around and take the trail to the top of the bluffs and walk along Paseo Del Mar that is lined with great homes and views.
Reaching Lunada Bay we took the trail down to the rocky shore and spent time with the creatures of the tied pools.
Note: Some say the walk along the rocky shore is hard and not worth it, I found it full of discovery.
