"Beautiful views to the west, from well over 3,500 feet, of fog coming in off the ocean. Rolling, chaparral-covered mountain tops strewn with granite as you drive along a winding mountain road. A relaxing scenic cruise."

Very nice drive. The road is very twisty which makes it a fun drive as well.

The trail head is easy to find if you plot the intersection of Descanso and Bolder Creek in your GPS. With all the heavy rain we have had latly the re-growth is amazing. We reached the trail in the late afternoon,as the sun was setting the shadow contrast of shadow and light made the views were amazing. Take your time on the trail and watch for all the great animal life. My children and I saw many wild peacocks, group of deer, and even a bobcat. My kids are already bugging me to take them back.

Trail is a little difficult to find the starting point. Most of it is dirt road with some tight curves and big drop offs to the edge on a narrow path. Some very nice views and overall was a pleasure. The recent fires in the Julian area make the trip a little erie with the blackened trees and all. Julian makes for a nice end to the trip at this time of the year too! KenC San Diego
