Diablo Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Follow Donner Canyon up into a steep fold on the east face of Mount Diablo to view these ephemeral waterfalls. They don’t call it Diablo for nothing. This iconic peak, the highest point on the east side of the San Francisco Bay Area, is lovely to look at, rising gold and green above the surrounding flatlands.
But the mountain’s temperament, like its geologic origins, can be volcanic. It tempts you with wildflowers and waterfalls, but wallops you with devilishly steep trails that, in rainy weather, can devolve into boot-sucking mud. The falls at trail’s end are tucked in a steep canyon along Donner Creek."
