Summit Trail

Summit Trail is a hiking, biking, and horse trail in Contra Costa County, California. It is within Civilian Conservation Corps Cultural Preserve and Mount Diablo State Park. It is 4.2 miles long and begins at 3,477 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 3.1 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,377 feet. DIABLO ECC RM 2 1962, MOUNT DIABLO, PLSS IP - Mount Diablo, and another survey point, the Mount Diablo State Park museum, and Mount Diablo (elevation 3,848 feet) are near the trailhead. There are also an information map, a bench mark, a communication tower, parking, a viewpoint, and an information office. The DIAB MT DIABLO CORS GRM survey point and the Wildcat Group Camp site can be seen along the trail. There are also picnic sites, a communications tower, an information board, a tank, and an information along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Juniper Trail, Green Ranch Road, Ridge View Trail, Staircase Trail, Mary Bowerman Trail Loop, Wall Pt. Road, Dan Cook / Summit Trail and North Peak Trail.
