Lower Otay Vista Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Formerly remote Lower Otay County Park, perched on a hillside above the dam of Lower Otay Reservoir, is now only a few minutes’ drive from tens of thousands of new South Bay residents. A recent renovation of the entire park has turned it into a quite a scenic spot for picnicking, with a view south into Mexico. That view can be greatly improved if you care to climb to a somewhat higher vantage point to the east."

We walked north from the boat dock to the Olympic Training Center. Close to the road, but pretty views of Otay Lake and the mountains to the east. Good bird watching possibilities.
Fun and easy hike to the top of this little peak with great views of Otay Lakes and the Eastern part of the Otay River Valley. Took only a half hour or so to go up and back so I took a fire road trail at the bottom which had some nice surprises. Ultimately I ended up with about a good 80 minutes of hiking. Very family friendly with a nice little park at the bottom.
