Sifford Lakes Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Si?ord Lakes are a group of nearly a dozen small lakes and ponds nestled into a bench above the lip of Hot Springs Creek canyon. Distinct trail leads to the ?rst two lakes in the
chain, and the remainder can easily be reached via short and straight forward cross-country routes. Most of the tra?c seems to emanate from visitors staying at the Drakesbad Guest Ranch, but most people go no farther than the ?rst lake, so it’s reasonable to expect solitude at the others.

Surrounded by open forest, Si?ord Lakes usually shed their snow by mid-June and typically warm up for decent swimming by early July. However, anglers should look elsewhere to practice
their craft, as the shallow lakes are devoid of ?sh. Backpackers will find fairly good campsites around the ?rst two lakes, and nearby cli?s o?er excellent views of the terrain both near and far."
