Juniper Lake Loop

Juniper Lake Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The loop around Juniper Lake won’t make anyone’s top-10 list of must-do trips, but the 6.3-mile circuit is a fine alternative for those seeking a relatively easy morning or afternoon hike, especially for those staying at Juniper Lake Campground. The route incorporates stretches of little-used trail and a section of dirt road to circumnavigate the lake, with plenty of opportunities along the way for a refreshing swim or for dropping a line in hopes of hooking a rainbow trout or two.

Good views across the lake feature a variety of highlights, including Lassen Peak, which is visible from the shoreline only near Juniper Lake Campground. Saddle Mountain is the spreading mass to the left of Lassen Peak. The best views of Mount Harkness and the cinder cone comprising the upper part of the peak are from the lake's north end."
