Juniper Lake Campground

Juniper Lake Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Come to Lassen Volcanic National Park and camp at Juniper Lake Campground because it offers the least-crowded camping, hiking, and fishing in the park. Juniper Lake, blue and deep, is by Lassen Peak, Mount Harkness, and Saddle Mountain

Come prepared for any kind of weather. At any time, it can be either freezing or like August on the Riviera. Bring winter sleeping bags with a sheet—if it is hot, use the sheet over you and lie on the bag. If it’s cold, crawl into the warm sleeping bag. Be sure to hike up to Crystal Lake. This hike is only about 0.5 mile, but it’s a killer. When you arrive, you’ll need a swim regardless of the weather. Fortunately, Crystal Lake is warm."
