Charlotte Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Charlotte Lake offers a pleasant atmosphere for overnight stays in the heart of Kings Canyon’s backcountry. However, because of the area’s popularity, backpackers are limited by park regulations to a two-night stay. The lake is not only a fine destination, but JMT thru-hikers and backpackers doing the Rae Lakes Loop will find the lake a convenient overnight stop. Because of the distance and moderate climb from Roads End, most parties will opt for a first-night’s camp somewhere along Bubbs Creek, such as Sphinx Creek Camp, Junction Meadow, or Vidette Meadow."
