Cayucos Pier Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Cayucos is fast and hollow, with lefts and rights depending on swell direction. At high tide with a southwest swell, Cayucos rolls in at its best.
Near the northern tip of Morro Bay, Cayucos Pier is an average wave, providing a consistent beach break with inconsistent shape. The name Cayucos is, of course, unusual. It comes from the original land grants extending back to the mid-1800s; the term refers to a small fishing boat similar to a kayak. Cayucos Pier is the centerpiece of Cayucos Beach."
