The Carpinteria Bluffs and Seal Sanctuary is an incredible spot. The bluffs encompass 52 oceanside acres with grasslands and eucalyptus groves. The area has panoramic views from the Santa Ynez Mountains to the islands of Anacapa, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa. At the cliff’s edge, 100 feet above the ocean, is an overlook of the seal sanctuary. Below, a community of harbor seals play in the water, lounge and sunbathe on the rocks and shoreline. The sanctuary is a protected birthing habitat for harbor seals during the winter and spring from December 1 through May 31.

Beautiful beach to walk on Seals are wonderful to watch. Never was any development planned- just a scare tactic to raise money to buy the property. Good variety of plants, especially shorty after a good rain. Except for the front parking lot flowers(beautiful) plants are by myself and my mother's father Frank Silva and a man who planted the round 2-4 foot high bushes.
