Whalers Knoll Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Whalers Knoll was an historic lookout for spotting whales. The trail twists 200 feet up the hillside through an open Monterey pine forest draped with lace lichen to the exposed knob. At the summit is a bench and panoramic views of Big Dome, Carmel Bay, and the coastline to Pebble Beach. This hike begins from Whalers Cove and connects with Whalers Knoll via the North Shore Trail (Hike 90). The hike returns back down to Whalers Cabin, built by Chinese fishermen in the 1 850s. The cabin now houses a museum."
