The Sea Lion Point Trail leads to a spectacular, surreal landscape on the coastal bluff above Headland Cove in Point Lobos State Reserve. From the bluffs are vistas of Sea Lion Cove, Sea Lion Rocks, the churning whitewater at Devil’s Cauldron, wave- pounded inlets, and sloping layers of rock. The offshore sea stacks and rocky coves are often abundant with sea otters, harbor seals, and barking California sea lions. The return route follows the eroded cliffs between Sea Lion Cove and Sand Hill Cove.
