Big Pine Trail to Danish Creek Camp

Carmel, California

Big Pine Trail to Danish Creek Camp Professional Review and Guide

"The Big Pine Trail lies on the west side of the Los Padres Reservoir in a scenic mountain valley. Hikes 77 and 78 begin on the Carmel River Trail, curving around the dam and spillway along the west- ern slope of the reservoir. While Hike 77 remains mostly level along the side of the reservoir, this hike switchbacks up to a ridge that overlooks the reservoir and surrounding wilderness area. A short spur trail drops into a small canyon at Danish Camp near the confluence of Danish and Rattlesnake Creeks. Be aware of ticks, which are prevalent during the wet season."
