This loop hike visits Garland Ranch Falls, a 70-foot cataract off a sandstone cliff in an enclosed, fern-filled canyon. The hike is enjoyable year-round, but to experience the cascade of the ephemeral waterfall, plan your hike after a rain. Beyond the falls, the forested trail continues to La Mesa, a flat river terrace and wildlife habitat pond perched in a saddle above the valley floor.
