North Carlsbad State Beach

Carlsbad, California

North Carlsbad State Beach Professional Review and Guide

"Carlsbad State Beach is a sand and rock beach bordered by 40-foot bluffs. At the north end of the beach is a paved walking path on the bluffs along Carlsbad Boulevard, between Tamarack Avenue and Pine Avenue. Beneath the bluffs, a wide, parallel path, known as the Seawall Walkway, follows the beach strand. The two walkways are connected by numerous stairways and ramps. At the south end of the walking paths is Agua Hedionda Lagoon, a 400-acre tidal estuary with freshwater and saltwater marshes. The wetland is part of the Pacific Flyway, a feeding, nesting, and resting habitat for shorebirds and waterfowl."
