Jordan Peak Lookout was built in 1934 and is still operated by paid staff during the fire season. At 9115 feet, it has the distinction of being one of the highest lookouts in California. It also affords one of the most dramatic 360-degree views the region has to offer. Near the summit grows a cluster of beautiful fawn lilies. The wildflowers, quite rare in these parts, can provide a stunning display in early spring.

Unbelievable views- well worth the long and winding road to get to the trailhead. Not a difficult or long hike, but use caution when driving in. We drove our Prius and made it without a problem, but the road leading up to the trail is not paved and would be best for a vehicle with a little more ground clearance.
