Billys Peak Lookout Professional Review and Guide
"The Billys Peak Trail is the path to take if you’re a fan of big views and you want instant gratification. It’s a stairway hike straight to the top of a 7,000-foot granite perch on the very edge of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. The 360-degree view from the summit takes in Mount Shasta, Lassen Peak, the Coffee Creek drainage, and a host of peaks in the inner Alps. Despite the name, the summit is not really Billys Peak, but an unnamed island of rock where the fire lookout was built (the real Billys Peak is slightly higher and lies to the northwest). Highlights: A steep but relatively short hike to an old fire lookout site; great view."
