    Pit River

    Pit River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From Burney, drive about 12 miles northeast on CA 299. After Burney, continue 12 miles east until you see the sign “Pit #1 Power House.” Turn onto the road and follow the signs downhill to the campground.

About the campground: The Pit River is the largest river in Northeastern California. Trout fishing along the Pit River is good if you are willing to fight the brush along its banks and do a lot of wading. The south fork is stocked in summer with rainbows. Elevation 2,860 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open all year."
