Burney Falls is an eyeful, to say the least. This surely must be one of the loveliest waterfalls anywhere, and because it is fed by springs it is unusually constant in flow. Specialty birds: Resident—Bald Eagle, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Steller’s Jay, American Dipper. Summer—Osprey; Black Swift; Western Wood-Pewee; Cassin’s Vireo; Black-throated Gray, Hermit, and MacGillivray’s Warblers; Western Tanager; Black-headed Grosbeak. This eTrail provides detailed information on birding strategies for this specific location, the specialty birds and other key birds you might see, directions to each birding spot, a detailed map, and helpful general information.
