Several areas in California bear the name Twin Lakes. This one is just northeast of Yosemite National Park, though you can only access it from Highway 395. Turn west at the Twin Lakes turnoff from Highway 395 near the town of Bridgeport and head to the western end of the lake to find the trailhead. The trails around Twin Lakes into the Hoover Wilderness—particularly the Horse Creek Trail and Twin Lakes Loop trails—are very busy in early summer. This trail guide contains descriptions of the following trails: Horse Creek Falls, Virginia Peak Falls, and Buckeye Hot Spring Falls.
