Set down by three tiny jade lakes on the backside of Yosemite, Trumbull Lake Campground is getting popular. It is primitive (no showers), but most of the campsites are reservable. People come back every year. The store in the nearby Virginia Lakes Resort sells beer, ice, and basic supplies. The access road is paved and straight. The fishing is good, the hiking superb. Views of the snowy mountains rising around the three lakes take your breath away. Everybody you meet is complicit, because they are in on the secret that this is the most beautiful spot on Earth.
