Cactus Loop Trail

Cactus Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This short trail begins as a sandy winding path but becomes more rocky as it leads up the canyon. Signs identify jumping cholla, beavertail cactus, and saltbush. Walking up the canyon instead of driving the desert roads reveals the diversity of desert plant life and its adaptive strategies for desert survival. The nature trail route leads up the wash to the ridge’s high point (1,520 feet), then winds gently down the ridge slope to the trailhead."
