Cactus Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This short, easy-to-follow trail begins as a sandy winding path and becomes rockier as it leads up the canyon. Signs identify jumping cholla, beavertail cactus, and saltbush. When driving through the desert, the vegetation often looks monotonous and even dead. But when you stroll up the canyon on the Cactus Loop Trail, you notice the remarkable diversity of desert plant life as well as the variety of adaptive strategies necessary for desert survival. Perhaps most impressive are the teddy-bear cholla that attain a height of six feet."
