The 47-acre Heller’s Bend Preserve features a year-round stream shaded by oaks and sycamores, and a lush hillside fairly dripping with mature chaparral. After entering the preserve, you descend to cross the creek on a ford, and then follow a paved drive sharply up the hillside. After passing a couple of side paths, the main road swings onto a ridgetop. At one particular spot you get a nearly panoramic view of the ever-changing landscape of the Fallbrook and Bonsall regions.
