Bird Walk Coastal Access Park

Bodega Bay, California

Bird Walk Coastal Access Park Professional Review and Guide

"The Bird Walk Coastal Access Park lies at the mouth of Cheney Gulch, where it empties into Bodega Harbor just north of the Doran Spit. The coastal access trail follows old levees built to hold silt dredged from Bodega Harbor. The elevated walkway circles two freshwater ponds held within the levees. The trail overlooks Doran Park Marsh (a revitalized salt water marsh) and the 800-acre harbor. Thousands of birds inhabit the marshlands throughout the year, making it a superb bird observation area for waterfowl, shorebirds, and songbirds. The Cheney Creek Bridge Trail connects the Bird Walk Coastal Access Park with the long sandy beach along the Doran Spit."
