Red Wall Canyon Trail

Red Wall Canyon Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This is an expansive desert/canyon hike into a rugged, brightly colored canyon in the Grapevine Mountains. Although rock-climbing skills are needed to proceed beyond a dry waterfall 0.5 mile up the canyon, this hike provides delightful vistas in the lower canyon region for the casual hiker."

More Red Wall Canyon Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"Red Wall Canyon deserves its name. After crossing the open desert floor of Death Valley, this hike takes you into a rugged, brightly colored canyon in the Grapevine Mountains. Its treasures include dramatic red cliff narrows, polished rock, and magnificent dry falls.

Although advanced rock-climbing skills are needed to climb a dry waterfall 0.5 mile up the canyon, this hike provides delightful vistas in the lower canyon region for the casual hiker. A challenging optional route bypasses the dry fall.
The approach to the canyon via the alluvial fan is not particularly challenging, but it is certainly not easy!"
