Pioneer Basin

Pioneer Basin Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The tough, hairpin ascent to Upper Pine Lake offers breathtaking, over-the-shoulder views across Owens Valley to the White Mountains, and the campsite views from the shore of the Sierra Crest make this an outstanding choice for a base-camp location on the east side of the Sierra. Anglers should enjoy the chance to ply the waters for the resident trout without much competition from fellow anglers."
