The thematic and topographic keystone of the Evolution region. Mount Darwin is a large peak that dominates the area, just as Darwin’s theory of evolution stands high in science. The way this classic route crosses the margin of a glacier and circles around the ridge and up to the summit makes for an elegant climbing experience. It’s a must-do climb in the Evolution region. This is a long climb, and many parties bivouac around Lamarck Col or in Darwin Canyon.
